HIV and the Cell

The T-cell is one of the more common cells that the HIV virion seeks out. A T-cell is a white blood cell or lymphocye found in blood. Its role is to fight against foreign particles in the body. The entrance of the HIV virion into the T-cell ultimately leads to the destruction of the T-cell. Therefore, the bodys defense is weakened and becomes more suspectible to attack.
